Problems with hotmail account

After installing Kaspersky Anti Virus, I was unable to access my hotmail account.

 

Windows XP

Firefox 3.6 and Internet Explorer 8

Windows Firewall disabled

 

Both browsers would stall when attempting to login, requiring the page to be refreshed. When Kaspersky was disabled, could access without any problems. Same problem through mobile broadband (3G) and through ADSL connection.
