Database Corrupted, everytime I reboot computer [Merged]

Recommended Posts

I've been having the same problem as the rest of you. I think I got it fixed by uninstalling 2009 (I kept the activation info) Then installing 2010. I've rebooted once with no problems. I'm about to go to bed and I'm going to let it run a virus scan while I sleep. I'm keeping my fingers crossed in hopes that I don't wake up to find that I still have the issue.

Hi. Uninstall Windows Live OneCare Safety Scanner.

Clear your temp folder contents.

Also you should clean upgrade to 2010 version 9.0.0.736. Clean upgrade instructions in 4th important topic in this forum section.

I am experiencing the same thing and you are saying buy the newer version? This is the second time i remember this happening, that time a bad update was the cause.

Hello , for further and detailed analysis we need additional info , would you please help us ?

1. Update Task report where we can see exactly error mrssages (Report-Report-Detailed Report - Update center- Save)

2. Also it would be good if we have Log during corrupted Update Task is running (http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208280715)

Thanks.

Hi.

Facing the same issue on Windows Vista Ultimate as well. Slight variation:

- Update usually jumps from ~18% to complete

- Kaspersky still complains that databases are corrupt until the machine is restarted

- Firewall is also down, says license is missing.

P.S. 43 days left to on current one year license.

Sam issue here. I use '09. Starting today, updates started going screwy. It would update just fine after startup, but after about a minute after the update finishes, kaspersky shuts off and says the databases are corrupt. Another update fixes the issue, downloading plenty of files but updating only one: u0607g.xml. That seems to fix the corruption. This last startup I updated twice, let the auto update after startup, then ran it AGAIN right after the first had finished. It told me the databases were up to date. I crossed my arms and waited 30 seconds, light went on, databases corrupted. Quick update, databases NOT corrupted.

Every update I do causes it to download about 20 variations of the same file. 0607g.xml, then update only one of the same name. Logs of update attached. Can't do the second step because I don't have Internet Security '10.

Okay, I found the proper page for '09. http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208279789

I'm looking at this window that says "Attention! This window should be used only under the direction of Kaspersky Lab Technical Support Service specialist." (Lots of capitalized words) The only direction given so far is to look at a page that tells me how to do multiple things, I know not what they do. The large red exclamation points that say things like "PICK THE WRONG OPTION AND YOU COULD DO VERY VERY BAD THINGS TO YOUR COMPUTER" make me want to wait for further and clearer direction on how exactly I'm supposed to record logs during the update process.

facing same error... anyone can help me?
Welcome. Three things: You can attach the logs that KL requests, and/or you can await the fix in the soonest time, and/or you can clean upgrade to Version 2010. Instructions for the first and third of these are indicated in this topic thread, just a few posts up. Edited by richbuff

Ah, cool. So I guess I don't need to do the tracing. Though I'd still be willing to if it would help you guys. Big fan of the software. Also, the tracing instructions give a list of trace levels to chose, from low to critical. When advising users to employ that function, it would be good to specify what trace level you want them to use. And for the sake of curiosity, trace continues after computer restart, yes? That's the only time the problem showed up.

Just done an update and a reboot. Fingers Crossed ok so far.

Thank goodness for this forum as soon as I saw plenty of others with the same problem I realised that it was a not a problem with my computer.

Thanks Rich for your help last night.

Cheers

You say problem is fixed, but I have had to re-update my database three times in the last hour. (Somehow, the icon for my internet connection has disappeared from the task bar in the process - weird). The databse seems to become corrupted even while my computer is on, between reboots. Any suggestions?

(Running KIS 2009; don't have time to install more software today so please don't suggest upgrading to 2010)
