Migrating Admin Kit install

Recommended Posts

All -

What would be the easiest way to migrate an Admin Kit installation from a Windows XP wkst to a Windows 2003 server? Is there a way to do it such that the network agent does not have to be redeployed?

Also, can the klbackup tool be used to backup the Admin Kit on XP and then restore on Win 2003 server? The doc was not clear on this.

Thanks-

Mike

I found this in Reference Book:

Full restoration of the administration system data requires mandatory

saving of the Administration Server certificate. The PASSWORD setting

must be specified.

mike, you have to give more information on this migration....

is the new administration kit (svr2003) will have the same ip as the adminkit now (winxp)?

-- if you can maintain same ip , then you can backup and restore

-- if you cant maintain same ip , from the winxp adminkit you have to create a task to change administration server. before using this task make sure a fresh adminkit is installed on the svr2003.
