NSIS Error

Running Vista Home Basic.

 

I am trying to install KIS 9.0.0.736. I get the following error immediately the installation starts:

 

NSIS Error

 

Error writing temporary file. Make sure you temp folder is valid.

 

As far as I can see all temp folders are valid

 

Please help

Clear browser cache, and download the installer again, without using any download accelerators, and without any other party firewall installed, such as the NVIDIA firewall.

 

Also, make sure that you are in Administrator account when installing, and right click the installer and select Run as administrator.

Start >> Run >> cmd /k echo %TEMP% && echo %TMP% {OK}

Ensure you have space and permission on those folders.

Thanks richbuff and Whizard for your suggestions. I had tried most of these before making my post. This ended up being one of those unusual situations where any standard advice wouldn't apply.

 

The solution:

I discovered that the users desktop folder had been moved to %USERPROFILE%\favorites! From here Windows had no idea where to find the TEMP folder. Once I had re-arranged this desktop folder to the 'correct' location on the drive KIS installed first time and without any problems. :bt:
