KAV_WKS_v5.0.527

Recommended Posts

Hello,

after updating from KAV_WKS_v5.0.228 to KAV_WKS_v5.0.527 (March 21, 2006), MS Outlook2003 can not start correct anymore.

MS Outlook 2003 displays error message that KAV can not be installed or started and suggests user to "repair" MS Outlook 2003 again. However, this does not solve the problem

Could this be one of the reasons why Kaspersky has deleted the v5.0.527 from FTP servers again ?

greetings from Vienna, Austria

Hi Manfred,

just close Outlook and search for the EXTEND.DAT File on your machine and delete these files (could be more than one file)!!

In this file Outlook saves paths to apps etc. and in this file is an old entry of Kaspersky - that's it

btw. Outlook will generate a new extend.dat so don't hesitate and delete it !!

The reason why version 527 was pulled from the FTP etc.. is following --> see also THIS THREAD

Workstation 5.0.527 is incompatible with AdminKit 5.0.1149 and therwfore it was pulled !!

The incompatibility relates of communication problems between AdminKit & Workstation.

And as i tested before Workstation 5.0.522 & 5.0.527 is affected !!! But i can't find any problems when using those versions with AdminKit 5.0.1104 wink.gif

...for all others if problem still exists you've to deactivate/deinstall the Kaspersky Plugin in Outlook and to reinstall/reactivate it later after a reboot!
