  1. Are you using KIS 6? Go back to post #14 in this thread, there is a zip file that you can download. Follow all the instructions left by Whizard. If you can not get the file to install I have a work around for this. I did it on my PC and a friend of mine was having the same problem, worked with no problem but first try the zip file and see how it goes.
  2. Not sure if your problem is the same as mine or if you're using KAV or KIS but here is a thread I started a couple of weeks ago. http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showtopic=26275&hl= It was due to this file that I had to keep restarting my computer- C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0\fssync.dll It seemed like I was always restarting my computer over and over and over for the same file.
  3. Today I did another manual update and a message came up "No update is required". Did anyone at Kaspersky work on this problem because I no longer see the fssync.dll file in my update files with a message that says to reboot. Problem has been solved but not through the download of the zip file. Whizard, I followed your instructions and everytime I got a popup box telling me, File fssync.dll is either a read only, system or hidden file and that's with the self defense off. Then I was asked if I would like to install this file and when I clicked yes another popup box appeared that said, this file is password protected, please enter your password. As I said before I have no password protected files, it was strange that I would even be asked for a password. Anyway KIS is working fine now and I appreciate everyones help on this matter. Ahhhhh, back to my porn....
  4. Tried this and a message pops up... File fssync.dll is either a read only, system or hidden file. If I try to bypass that I get another message that says this file is pass word protected, please enter your password, only thing is I never made any password for this file or any other file.
  5. any other suggestions? I also notice that if I dont reboot my computer and then do another update the file no longer appears and I'm not asked to reboot. Its ONLY when I reboot and click on update that this happens. This all seemed to happen with the release of the hotfixes, before that everything was fine.
  6. Here is what the update looks like, copied after I clicked on update Selecting update source http://dnl-us4.kaspersky-labs.com 12/1/2006 9:29:35 AM File delivered u0607g.xml 12/1/2006 9:29:35 AM 771 bytes File delivered fssync.dll 12/1/2006 9:29:43 AM 36 KB File will be replaced after reboot C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0\fssync.dll 12/1/2006 9:29:43 AM Update finished 12/1/2006 9:29:43 AM Then it ends with the pop up box that has this message: Please restart your computer to complete the installation of new or updated protection components. Hope this helps some because I have no clue of what to do
  7. A search only turns up the file fssync.dll in the Kaspersky program folder I turned off/disabled the self defense, treid a manual update and got the same message "file will be replaced after reboot". I also did an uninstall/reinstall earlier today but I still get the same thing happening. Used the KIS/KAV zip file to remove any parts of Kaspersky that may have been left over, not sure of the name of the zip file but you probably know what I'm refering to, rebooted into safe mode and ran the file. I still get the same message.
  8. Can anyone help me with this? I rebooted again, did a manual update and was asked to reboot again with the same message.... File will be replaced after reboot C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0\fssync.dll What is this fssync.dll? Kaspersky downloads this file then after reboot says it will be replaced but never happens. Everything is up to date and current on my PC with KIS so what's going on now?
  9. I get this message after I update KIS File will be replaced after reboot C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0\fssync.dll When I reboot and click on update I keep getting the same message, so why isn't this file being replaced after a reboot?
  10. How do you use the training wizard. It seems that every time I go through the process I still end up with e mail that needs training. For instance I have a message in the info box that says, Anti Spam: Requires training on 32 not spam e mails..I don't even have 32 emails!! I must have went through the training wizard about a dozen times already so I must be doing something wrong. Someone have any ideas? Last thing, I only use the e mail through Verizon and MSN, I dont use Microsofts Outlook Express or anything in relation to Microsoft
  11. Last week I decided to upgrade from KAV 6 to KIS 6. I had been using KAV for 8 months, sent an e mail to Kaspersky Support, had my money refunded in 24 hrs and was also e-mailed a coupon code to use for the 30% discount.
