  1. Thanks Berny. I've now uninstalled CryptoPrevent and it would seem that I can run KIS Full Scans successfully again. Presumably Killemall was bundled up into CryptoPrevent - so maybe my problem was some kind of conflict that had developed between KIS Full Scan and CryptoPrevent. Up until now the two had seemed to operate quite happily side by side. So it goes.
  2. I've now sent my problem off to Tech Support. Given what you say about the event viewer, though, I'm not optimistic that the situation is salvageable! A couple of you have suggested cooling might be an issue, and that's possible, as I have noticed that the fan seems to sometimes be running a lot harder now than before, especially when scans are running. However, the fact that the scan always seems to crash the computer at pretty much the same spot in every run makes me wonder that something else might be going on - as could it be possible for the temperature to become critical at the same point in every run? I can't find a way to uninstall Killemall as I can't actually find it anywhere on the computer. Might it be hidden within something else? Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions.

  4. I have a Lenovo laptop running Windows 10. As far as I am aware, it is update with all Microsoft update releases. Over the last few weeks, it's become more and more common that, every time I run a Full Scan in KIS, the laptop just switches itself off about a third of the way into the scan. It's reached the point now where this is happening every time I run a Full Scan. When I monitor things with Task Manager, it seems that something called Kill em All kicks in when everything shuts down. I've never knowingly downloaded this and don't know where it would have come from. Unlike Full Scans, Quick Scans seem to run ok. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing the laptop to close down?
