  1. I carried out your instructions fully and now have a fully working KAV 2013 scanning my system while I post this message. Thanks for the suggestions. Now I have to ask you another question: Bearing in mind that I had major problems when I tried installing the 2014 upgrade that was suggested in the email, do you think I should try to install it again, or just forget about it? I will do nothing until you have replied to the question. Thanks again for the help. Hawkslayer...
  2. Okay I finally sorted it out, here is the link. Thanks for all the help. http://www.getsysteminfo.com/read.php?file...bbab63bf251d663
  3. Okay an update I downloaded GSI and ran it on my system, but when I right click on the message, I don't get an option to post the results into the message. Sorry to be such a pain in the butt. I've clicked on all the insert buttons, but nothing lets me paste into a message.
  4. I am new on this site and I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by sixth important topic. I've looked at the top of the foum and don't see anything resembling that. Can you please direct me?
  5. I'm having a very similar problem, I am using Windows XP and had a fully working 2013 KAV on my system. I then received the email and tried installing 2014 KAV over 2013 KAV, it went through the full installation process and then reported that it had failed and was going to remove itself from the computer. After doing that it told me to reboot, when I did reboot it was to find that my working version of 2013 KAV no longer worked either. So I went though the installation procedure again and this achieved exactly the same result. So I am left without a operational KAV on my system and I need some help here. Hawkslayer...
  6. Too late I'm afraid. He just picked up the laptop an hour ago. Can't try the GSI now. Maybe if he brings it back sometime. Thanks for the suggestion. Hawkslayer...
  7. My friend had problems with his laptop and asked me to have a look at it. There were viruses and AVG Anti-virus (which he had installed) wouldn't find them. So I uninstalled AVG and installed KAV 2010 trial version. I use KAV myself, registered version 2009. I cleaned his machine. But, now the laptop is clean, I am surprised at how long it takes 2010 KAV start up at boot. At least two or three minutes. My own version of KAV 2009 starts up in a few seconds on my computer. Is this long wait normal, or is there anything I can do about it? Thanks, Hawkslayer...

  9. I am using an older verion of Diskeeper, Version: 9.0.511.0. That is most likely the problem. How long does the Diskeeper trial last? I don't want to update to a later version at this time, (can't really afford to) so I guess I have to put up with the inconvenience of not being able to do a boot-time defrag on C:/. The boot time defrag works perfectly well on my D: and E: drives. I don't have Roxio installed and am using Windows XP. I downloaded the GSI a couple of days ago and it ran for hours without coming up with any kind of report, even left it running all night. So I haven't tried it since. But I'll try it again now. 10. I installed Kaspersky AV 2009 this week and have been very inmpressed with it. However, this morning I was defragging my drives with Diskeeper and when I set up a boot-time defrag of my C:/ drive system files, Diskeeper reported that it couldn't defrag the drive, because it could not gain "exclusive access" to the drive. Does KAV access the drive during the boot time period? Hawk...
