  1. Hello, I just wanted to confirm that it is intentional that the previous policies I created for SP1 MR2 also work for SP1 MR3. Could someone please confirm this? Thanks!
  2. I have also contacted Kaspersky Support and they have confirmed that this is a software issue, there's no point in putting forth the effort for a workaround - we just have to wait until they fix it.
  3. "well tuned" is probably the reason I have had a better time with standard KES. I doubt I am the best at well tuning Kaspersky. I just pray it works every time I deploy a new version. =)
  4. How many users do you have on each TS? I was having so many issues with Enterprise Edition that I just switched to regular KES 10. Yes, it spawns a new avp.exe for each user logged on, but if you compare the memory it takes up to how much the Enterprise Edition executables take up, it's pretty much a wash. I haven't had any problems since.
  5. Hi Everyone, The policy settings for Endpoint Control (Device Control, Web Control, etc.) are missing from the KES 10 Policy Template. Anyone know if I did something wrong, or is this an oversight? Thanks!
  6. Had the same problem. Are you running the KES8 install manually or pushing it from the Security Center server? If you install the package manually don't install anything that requires the NDIS driver. Only install File Anti-Virus and Vulnerability Monitor. No Intrusion or Network Block.
  7. Editing the .kpd file in the standalone installation does not work either. Do you have to execute the installation some special way for it to use the settings in the .kpd file?
  8. Hi Helmut, Thanks so much for the quick response. Is there a way to do this using the stand alone installer? I tried setup.exe /pSKIPPRODUCTCHECK=1 however I continue to get prompted to remove Live Update. Is using the kpd file the only way? Thanks!
  9. Is there any way to skip uninstalling the incompatible applications with KES8? I am running Symantec System Recovery Server and Backup Exec and they use Live Update to stay current. If I deploy KES8 it removes Live Update from the server because it's listed as "incompatible". I need a workaround for this because it is a HUGE pain to have to uninstall Live Update, install KES8, then reinstall Live Update again. Any thoughts?
  10. Can I ask what the advantage is of staying with the Enterprise Edition is when 6.0 MP4 for File Servers is newer? I know that Kaspersky used to say that only Enterprise Edition can be used with Citrix/Terminal Services, however the individual spawns of AV with each user in total usually use less memory than the one instance of KAVEE. I am running 6.0 MP4 for File Servers in my TS environment (because I'm running 2008 R2 and KAVEE doesn't support it) however I have had no issues with it. Just wanted to get other's opinions in light of this and prior debacles with KAVEE.

  13. Try uninstalling the NDIS Filter on the machines you are having problems with and see if that helps. That fixed my problems. The only thing that it disables is "Anti-Hacker" - the firewall protection. I don't use that piece anyway.

Hello, I am running Windows Vista x64 and KAV for Workstations 6.0 When I have Web Anti-Virus installed and and the NDIS Filter enabled, whenever I try to copy files from a network drive to my machine while I have other files opened on another network drive, my network connection completely crashes and I have to reboot. I have also confirmed this is a problem on another workstation I have running with Windows 7 x64 and KAV for Workstations 8.0 beta. Is there something I can do besides disabling the NDIS Filter? Can I have it not scan certain ports or add something to the Trusted Zone? Thanks for your help! Edit - disabling Web AV in the Console does not fix the problem. The only way to resolve it is to go into the properties of the adapter and uncheck the box for "Kaspersky Anti-Virus NDIS 6 Filter".
