	Hey everyone,
</p>

<p>
	I wanted to share a really frustrating experience I’ve been having with Kaspersky’s support and their VPN service lately, mostly to see if anyone else is dealing with the same thing.
</p>

<p>
	<b>The Support Experience</b> Last week, I contacted chat support because the VPN is not working on my router, never worked, I bought a new one and still not working. The agent gave me a 2-day resolution window and promised to email me the support protocol and follow-up updates. None of that happened. They completely ignored the deadline, never sent an email, and left me with zero updates or explanations. It feels like a total lack of respect for the customer's time.
</p>

<p>
	<b>The Technical Issues</b> On top of the bad support, the service itself has serious flaws right now:
</p>

<ul>
	<li>
		<p>
			<b>The OpenVPN files are useless:</b> The configuration files Kaspersky provides just don't work with standard router firmware (I'm using an Archer AX53 now). When trying to connect, the status just sits on "Connecting" forever. It seems like their files don't even follow the standard, true compatible router OpenVPN protocol, making them completely ineffective for standard routers.
		</p>
	</li>
	<li>
		<p>
			<b>No WireGuard alternative:</b> Ever since the changes back in January, WireGuard is nowhere to be found. So when OpenVPN fails, there isn't even a modern alternative to fall back on.
		</p>
	</li>
</ul>

<p>
	Right now, the VPN is completely unusable at the router level, and support is just missing in action.
</p>

<p>
	Has anyone actually managed to get their OpenVPN config working on a router recently, or is everyone else getting ignored by support too?
</p>

	For many locations visible IP does not match selection. For example: Aruba -&gt; IP is in USA, Cyprus -&gt; IP is in Holland, Moscow -&gt; IP in Praha etc. It is really hard to find location which will match with IP provided by VPN. It was not like that before. I think it started a few months back. This totally defeats one majour purpose of VPN. Premium subscription. Both Windows 10 and 11. App ver: 21.25.7.504-2 (a). Updates, reboots do not fix the issue.
</p>

	Hi everyone,
</p>

<p>
	I'm trying to set up a WireGuard connection. According to the support page, configuration files for 3rd-party clients should be available for download at <a href="https://my.kaspersky.com/VPN" rel="external nofollow">https://my.kaspersky.com/VPN</a> after logging in.
</p>

<p>
	I recall seeing this option a few months ago, but I didn't have the chance to try it then. Now that I actually need it, the option seems to have disappeared from the page. Could you please help me find where it is or let me know if something has changed?
</p>

<p>
	As you can see in the attached screenshot:

	<b>Hi everyone,</b>
</p>

<p>
	I’m posting this to save other Malaysian users from wasting their time troubleshooting what looks like a technical issue, but is actually an undocumented regional block.
</p>

<p>
	If you are using Kaspersky Standard and wondering why the Free/Limited VPN is missing or cannot be activated on your Android app in Malaysia, <b>it is not a bug. They removed it.</b>
</p>

<p>
	I recently spent time trying to figure out why I couldn't access the limited VPN included with my license. After back-and-forth emails with Kaspersky Support and their Escalation Team, they finally admitted that the free/limited VPN has been geo-restricted in Malaysia.
</p>

<p>
	<b>Here is the exact response I received from Kaspersky Support:</b>
</p>

<blockquote>
	<p>
		<i>"At this time, the free/limited version of Kaspersky VPN is no longer available for distribution or activation in certain countries, including Malaysia, and as a result, it may not appear or be accessible in the Android app under your current license. We understand your concern about the lack of a separate public knowledge base article specifically stating this..."</i>
	</p>

	<p>
		<i>"If you would like to use Kaspersky VPN in Malaysia, you may instead use the trial or premium version available through the official Kaspersky website."</i>
	</p>
</blockquote>

<p>
	<b>Why this is frustrating:</b>
</p>

<ul>
	<li>
		<p>
			<b>Zero Documentation:</b> There is absolutely no public Knowledge Base (KB) article or documentation mentioning this restriction for Malaysia.
		</p>
	</li>
	<li>
		<p>
			<b>Wasted Time:</b> Users are left thinking it's an app glitch, a cache issue, or a license syncing problem, leading to useless troubleshooting.
		</p>
	</li>
	<li>
		<p>
			<b>Upselling:</b> Their "solution" is simply to tell you to go buy the Premium version or use trial version.
		</p>
	</li>
</ul>

<p>
	If you are in Malaysia and trying to get your free Kaspersky VPN to work, stop trying. It’s working exactly as they (secretly) intended. Hope this heads-up saves someone a headache!<br />
	<br />

<p>
	3 reinstall attempts didn't work.

<p>
	Support claims it is because I have more than 5 devices with it installed, which after reducing down to 4, and 2 further reinstall I am still stuck on this

	<span>2. The other problem was a BIG one because I didn't spot it immediately, and therefore had my privacy breached ... IT FAILED TO HIDE MY IP AND LOCATION!</span>
</p>

<p>
	I immediately logged a support ticket, and while I was waiting for a reply, I disabled my IP6 settings in my network adapter. This stopped the problem, so the automatic updated had caused the app to leak IP6 information, and thereby disclosed my IP4 address and location.
</p>

<p>
	When support wrote back, they advised me to remove the VPN with Kavremvr.exe and reinstall the VPN software.
</p>

<p>
	This has now fixed the IP6 leaking problem, BUT I RECOMMEND THAT YOU ALWAYS CHECK YOUR IP ADDRESS WHEN YOU NOTICE AN AUTOMATED UPDATE.
</p>

<p>
	I have asked Kaspersky to investigate the automatic update process to avoid this in the future.

<p>
	I configured the VPN for router option on my TP-Link router but the connections is not completing.<br />
	<br />
	I am posting a screenshot of the issue.

<p>
	My IP still appears as from Italy when routed through the VPN.

	I'm trying to connect to an Australian site but am blocked despite the VPN connected to an Australian server. When I turn Kaspersky VPN off I can connect to the site. Why is this?

	Hi everyone! I recently moved to Linux, and have seen that the VPN can be, or at least was, configurable with OpenVPN. Kaspersky not supporting with any package Linux is sad, while I've always enjoyed the Kaspersky Standard on Windows, is it possible to use the VPN with third party software?

	I had created a Wireguard .conf file for my router and used it a while. But since about 2 months it doesn't work. I can not create a new one because the menu or button for creating .conf or .ovpn file has been disappeared. Could you fix this problem or Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection could not use on the routers anymore?
