Using Kaspersky 21.5.11.384 (latest) for Windows 10, I get conflicting reports from Scan and System Watcher for this application: FastestVPN for Windows 10 “https://fastestvpn.com” Scan says 0 objects detected, and the Threat Intelligence Portal's (opentip.kaspersky.com) analysis says it's Clean, but System Watcher identified the background service (fastestvpnservice.exe) as a Trojan (PDM:Trojan.Win32.Generic). Should I trust this application and add it to System Watcher exclusions? Or should I consider this application a threat and uninstall/disinfect? I submitted for re-evaluation a month and half ago but didn't receive results. Application: FastestVPN…

When playing game, I noticed that sometimes when I alt+tab there's a program that quickly closes almost as soon as I actually see the window switching screen. I can't get a good look at it, but I'm pretty sure it has no logo nor any name. It also doesn't have any sort of "body" (the window is just thin and transparent). I haven't really installed anything since I started having this problem. The only things I have were Vortex (a mod manager from nexusmods) and the Bethesda launcher, both of which, I think, had proper digital signatures and Kaspersky didn't pick anything up when installing. I also downloaded a .jpg or .png, but I don't think those contain malware (I can se…

Since couple weeks ago Kaspersky Security Cloud is causing errors 0x800CCC1A when I try to receive Outlook emails via all/any of my several email accounts. It also caused destruction by corrupting my email files and I needed to spend several days restoring and repairing my Outlook files. As soon as I start Kaspersky I get Outlook errors again and my Outlook files (.pst) are corrupted again. When I exit/close Kaspersky then everything is working well and I don't have any problems with Outlook. So right now I cannot use Kaspersky at all and must keep it closed to be able to use MS Outlook. The specific error message in Outlook caused by Kaspersky is: "0x800CCC1A: Your …

I am using Kaspersky Security Cloud Free in Windows 10. I tested its Web Shield by going to a test phishing site. When Kaspersky's popup warning appeared, I clicked 'I understand the risks' to allow access. However, now it allows access every time. How do I reset the warning?

I notice that I get "Processing Error" on some files that Kaspersky SC scans. Most, if not all, are related to Microsoft Edge updates. One more curious one is just dalled data0000.res. It's object path is "C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-e..firsttimeinstaller_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.19041.681_none_31051459c61ca882\MicrosoftEdgeStandaloneInstaller.exe//GUT//MicrosoftEdge_X64_85.0.564.67.exe.{0D50BFEC-CD6A-4F9A-964C-C7416E3ACB10}//". Is this something to worry about? Normally I'd just delete files that have "Processing Error" in them myself, but seeing that this file is from WinSxS, I thought I'd ask here before deleting anything.

Hello everyone! I swear I already posted this issue earlier lask week or so, but I couldn't find the thread or even my own profile. So lets try again: I have Kaspersky Security Cloud 21.3.10.391 (h) in a Windows 10 21H2 environment. In windows explorer, file name extensions are NOT visible, because I want them to be hidden. Kasperksy is constantly warning me about it with notification popups all the time. I went to the options already and disabled a lot of notifications but it still pops up. I don't know what is the option to disable these notifications (if there is any). Thanks!

Hello, Starting a couple of days ago I noticed some applications that rely on contacting websites not working out of nowhere. After trying several solutions, I finally tried completely closing Kaspersky Security Cloud from tray (not using pause protection), only then the application would work. For some reason Kaspersky is blocking some websites, and does not stop this behavior even when using 'Pause Protection' option. The problem I see with this behavior is that this action is not reported at all, so I have no idea which component of Kaspersky is doing this. I have already tried disabling most (if not all) components 1 by 1 and could not mak…

I am using Kaspersky Security Cloud Free. I wanted to restore my computer to a point a few weeks back, but when I went to System Restore, I found that Kaspersky creates a new restore point MANY times every day. It is only 9am and it has already created 8 restore points today. Is there any way to limit the number of restore points that Kaspersky creates? I can’t see anything in the Settings.

Hello/Bonjour Another question as I try to learn a little bit more about the security of my connectivity to the www. In Safe Money I have typed the https:// address to my local Amazon here in Canada. Occasionally I’ll click on it, and rather than taking me to Amazon, a warning page comes up which tells me that (for some reason) I’m being taken to an http site. Now, whether this is Kaspersky warning me, or my browser (which is set to ONLY permit me to go to https sites), or indeed both, I don’t know. The options are “to proceed to site” or to “go back”. I always go back, figuring that if either Kaspersky and/or my browser is telling me not to proceed then I’d be wise…

Now i know that crypto miners are always marked as malware because criminals can use them for bad purposes, but with awesome miner it told me that its legitimate software but criminals can use it and then in awesome miner i had chosen trex miner that was marked as malware. there was not a “legitimate software” message, just a Miner trojan. so since i purposefully downloaded it would it be safe? and is it just marked in case it was not downloaded by the user?

I installed Kaspersky Security Cloud to run a scan on my computer as it was running slowly. After the normal scan, I wanted to uninstall the program, but upon running the uninstaller I was told I needed to reboot my computer before proceeding with the installation. After multiple reboots and attempts, the issue persists. Does anyone have any idea how I can uninstall the program? Thanks in advance.

I have been using Kaspersky Security Cloud Free for some time on my Windows 10 Pro laptop (Dell XPS 15) with no problems. I recently purchased a Sandisk Extreme 1TB external SSD. Read/write speeds were so slow it was unusable. Exchanged the SSD for a new one and had the same issue. Even tried a Crucial 1TB external SSD and had the same problem. To make a long story short after days of trying to resolve the issue I finally uninstalled Kaspersky Security Cloud Free and the SSDs worked perfectly with read/write speeds as expected. Reinstalled Kaspersky Security Cloud Free and the read/write speeds returned to basically unusable. Uninstalled Kaspersky Security Cloud Free and …

A week ago, I opened Lenovo Vantage on my Lenovo IdeaPad in order to briefly turn off the battery cap. Vantage offered me a hardware scan. Since I had mouse issues, I went ahead with it. However, when it was scanning the real-time clock, several notifications from Kaspersky Security Cloud Free popped up informing me they couldn’t authenticate domains that appear to be legitimate Microsoft domains asking for an encrypted connection (I have Microsoft Office installed). I chose to Disconnect them to be safe. I proceeded with temporarily disabling the battery cap in Vantage then re-enabling it later in the day. Upon advise, I tried running the hardware scan again, but the not…

How can I see what KSC is currently scanning/working on? Thatcauses high CPU via avp.exe I couldn’t find a log file, this is basic function to show user what it’s doing. (and not e.g. crypto mining) I need this to debug my exception list. (added a program to it, but CPU is still high) This is version independent problem.
