I have installed the Kaspersky extension but it is gray and not working. PS I have a chromebook.

Hi, I hope the day is going well! Recently I discover some issue on Kaspersky Cloud Free 21.3.10.391(f) and Windows 11. Opening Kaspersky than the support icon near the settings icon that can be found on bottom left showing I’m on Windows 10 when I’m on Windows 11. I hope Kaspersky can fix this in the future as the program should be already compatible with the latest Windows version that is 11! Recently Pause protection and Settings options were disabled in the trey icon context menu. Restoring the settings to default and restarting the computer did not help ....both remain greyed-out. This has happened before and at that time I had to uninstall Kaspersky Free. I then installed Kaspersky Cloud Security Free, which has recently updated to Kaspersky Free ....under Kaspersky Cloud Security Free this grey-out never happened and I have been using Kaspersky Cloud Security Free for a few years until the recent upgrade/update to Kaspersky Free .

I am running a full scan, it has now been running for 14+ hours, has scanned over 1.6million files (and is still going) but has been displaying "99%, less than a minute left" for the last 12 hours! Around 750,000 files had been scanned at that point. Is this correct? and when will it ever end? Virtually all of my files (Word, Excel, photos, music etc) are kept on an external 1TB hard drive (connected) which is less than half full. I do not do gaming nor do I have that many installed programmes. Seems excessive - is it? Is it safe to stop the scan?

Hi, I'm having an issue where i'm trying to watch videos from playvirtuoso.com and the videos will only ever load 2-4 minutes then will stop playing. the video won't load any more and skipping through the video fails to load. the video still won't play when refreshing the page and the only way to play the video again is to close and reopen the browser or switch to another internet connection. however, even when doing so, the video will again only load 2-4 minutes and stop again. i've tried multiple browsers, multiple internet connections, disabled all extensions etc. and still had the same issue. i can play YouTube and Netflix videos at the same time as the videos on…

I have noticed a bug with the free Kaspersky Free AV package in that I am seeing it create a new folder with a GUID-like pattern in my system's TEMP folder approximately once every hour, all containing the same four identical files (amounting to just under 3MB in each folder and the DLLs inside them have AO Kaspersky Lab digital signatures on them): binaries.hsh msi_common.dll msi_misc.dll product_info.dll I don't mind what the software does so long as it self-cleans up after itself, but is there any way to prevent these duplicate files from being continuously and needlessly generated? Since latest update to 21.6, I keep getting this error. The UI does seem to restart itself no problem but leaves this message on the desktop along with an abandoned icon in the system tray.

I've been troubleshooting an old (virus free) application.exe that just fails to install. I have another PC same Windows OS without Kaspersky and no issues. 'Pause Protection' doesn't do what it says on the tin and I'm losing confidence. I ran a .exe file I downloaded and Kapersky started advanced disinfection. a Trojan.Multi GenAutorunReg.a was found and disinfected within 30 seconds according to the log. Should I assume the file is now safe and I can use it? Should I delete the file that had the Trojan?? Should I do a system restore before I downloaded the file just to be safe? Please help. CCleaner gave warning not to use. US government warning not to use anymore. Kaspersky antivirus has no connection to the war correct.

I would get the issue with Kaspersky not loading on start up, even trying to force shut down would not do anything. Is there any way to fix this? If I could, I could go back to this program.

Hi Kaspersky I have been using a free Kaspersky version on Windows10 for a long time. I then decided to install windows 11. Now how do I install that old free Kaspersky version licence in Windows11? Remember, the free subscription licence key is different from the regular licence key (contains more characters).

In the Getting started section for the new Kaspersky Free 21.5, it states - In order for Kaspersky Free to fully support browsers, the Kaspersky Protection extension has to be installed and enabled in browsers. Kaspersky Free uses the Kaspersky Protection extension to inject a script into traffic. The final sentence in this same paragraph states - Kaspersky Free can embed the script without using the Kaspersky Protection extension. This last sentence seems to conflict with the first sentence. As ironic as it is to say that kaspersky free security cloud failed to block a threat test using this script : ECHO off :top START %SystemRoot%\system32\calc.exe GOTO top Security cloud did nothing and it successfully k.o.d my pc (had to force restart) Just to let you know it was not a real threat just a safe test to measure my antivirus software response.
