Hey guys

I've recently installed KAV File Server Enterprise 6.0 on a Windows 2000 SP4 system and am now experiencing issues with lockups.

I found another user having a similiar issue however his was when the system was updating, I don't believe mine is getting that far as it seems to be locking up on system startup.

I was able to disable it remotely via the admin kit and the system runs smooth again.

The system I have installed it on only received an internet connection a few days ago because it was the DC for a standalone network.

I am going to install it on another 2 PCs however I'm very cautious because those other 2 PCs are critical to our business (File server and Syteline server) and I can't afford to have them going down.

If anyone can point me in a direction that would be great smile.gif

Hi there,

Yep, I did install the latest and all the hot fixes.

It is *possibly* related to the updating upon further investigation. Has anyone had issues with updating through a proxy server?
Is it worthwhile disabling updates from anywhere other than a local source and manually updating?

Hi again,

I have installed 6.02.555 and it hasn't appeared to have improved anything. The same sort of lockups occur however I can't seem to find any logs.

Is there a way to set the AV to create a log file of what is happening to assist in troubleshooting?

Well, I ended up installing the Non-Enterprise version 6.0.3.387 on the Win2K servers and all seems fine.

I would prefer Enterprise, but I value a working server more smile.gif

This can now be locked.
