I have just tried to download KIS 2009 latest version but had to stop after 2 hours! How long should an initial download take? Why is there no indication of download time or amount remaining? Also do I use 'Display on screen' or 'save report to file'?

Please, do the following:
1) create folder with name Temp in the folder where file Updater.exe is located
2) from the computer where KIS 2009 is installed copy folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kaspersky Lab\AVP8\Data\Updater\Temporary Files\temporaryFolder to the folder Temp.
3) run update process

Natalia, even though I stopped the download there is a TEMP folder in the Updater.exe location folder. It goes to Temporary folder then auto patches, bases and index. Do I run the update process again and how long should it take? When and if it completes how do I then run the update ?

OK, download completed and programme updated normally.

Hi steve Hi Natalia

Downloading the updates via universal updater was successful and two folders were created : "Temp" , "Updates" . I couldn`t run updater.exe, the error message was No 15 . I tried to update kaspersky using local folder on my computer. In update setting menu, I have added "updates" folder which has been created by GUI . All process was performed normally and now KIS 2009 (Ver 8.0.0.506) is up to date and works properly.
When I run GUI , the menu has not capability to change the size of it. In my labtop screen (1280*800 pixels), I can not see Setting , Apply and Start buttons and I perform all, using tab and enter keys on my keyboard.
