Customizable firewall rules would be a good feature or is it for business versions only?
BENNYSOFT
It would be helpful to write the application and the IP address or host name in the "Access blocked" log entry. wink.gif

Firewall = Medium:
QUOTE
Only outgoing connections using SSH, HTTP, HTTPS, IMAP, SMTP, POP3 protocols are allowed

Unfortunately, without FTP protocol in medium mode or customizable rules the firewall makes no sense for me.
Viktor
Hi, BENNYSOFT,
thank you for your comments, we may realize customizable rules for firewall in kms9

Please, add FTP to the allowed protocols in KMS8!

Hi Viktor,
Is it possible that you can implement this feature where I can know how much data has been sent or received and how much time I have spent online, because the built in application in n73 does the exact same thing but after the connection is terminated it doesn't save the log. So I feel it would be a very good feature to implement in the firewall reports section. Just like KIS8.

... and the protocol.

But this information is useless without customizable firewall rules.

I have VPN connection. I set it so that other connection can use it (Such as Wireless LAN) .I did't know when I choose this setting, the similar option in Internet connection is going to be inactive . so When I connect to internet, the VPN must be active to use Wireless LAN.

Dear Viktor:
Hi,
I am new here. This is my first post. I have a suggestion for improving KMS firewall, but I am not sure if that is possible to add. It is very useful in the firewall report, when blocking some outgoing attempt, to specify the name of program that has been trying to access internet. Currently, the report just includes the time of attempt and whether it was outgoing or incoming. But there isn't any information about the program whose access has been blocked by KMS.
Thank you for your attention,
Regards

OOPS! I am very sorry. Frankly, I hadn't read previous posts in this topic, and so I didn't realized that you had similar (better) suggestion in post #3. However, I disagree with your comment in post #9, which was second by Viktor in post #10, that the information would not useful without customizable firewall rules.

This comment expressed my disappointment about missing customizable firewall rules. wink.gif
Yes, you should see the application, the protocol, and the port of the blocked connection in the log. With and without customizable firewall rules.

Without these rules you have to set the firewall to the low level in order to use all your applications with online access. (I prefer not to switch on and off the firewall.) I have a number of applications which do not work online with the medium level. For me a firewall is the part with the highest priority within a security suite. KMS isn't the only one security suite for S60. The target must be to develop the best security suite for mobile devices. smile.gif
