The 2 base computers can ping each other but vmware sitting on them dont ping each other when the firewall is running.

We are using Kaspersky Antivirus 6.0 Open Space Security. We have added rules for, blocking few application from our network in the Firewall. It works fine but it also blocks vmware server from using the network. we need 2 vmware from 2 different computers to communicate with each other.

To make it simple i execute the vmware and then added all the processes with the ports as rules in firewall, but it doesnt work. To go one step ahead created one rule saying "ALLOW All Inbound and Outbound stream on TCP" . still the 2 VMWare doesnot ping or communicate.

The other thing i noticed is that the vmware run with different ports each time we run it, is there a way i can allow them without bothering on the ports. Each time it runs it gives a new port and adding them as rules is difficult.

What version of VMWare are you using? VMWare workstation, server or player? Are you binding your vm sessions to a network card or nat? Have you set exclusions in trusted applications for the vmware executables?
