Hello,

i have to install and configure the Kaspersky Administration Kit 6.
There is no default anti-virus program right now, some have AVG and other McAfee.
Now several computers use Avast and that's the one i'm having problems with.

First i need to uninstall all existing antivirus programs from the clients which is possible for McAfee and AVG.
But Avast is not listed as "application to uninstall" in the list.
I found already you can create package yourself by using an existing .exe file and i found also an Avast Uninstall Utility.
But the uninstall utility is only working in Safe mode or if you adjust a setting manually in Avast.

is there perhaps another way to uninstall avast remotely ?

Kind regards,

Hans

What it´s your build of Administration kit? Do you have review if the last build of Administration kit have the option to uninstall Avast?

If the last build of Administration kit dont´have the option to remove Avast Antivirus, the only option is remove manually.

Hi,

Which version of Avast would you like to remove ?

Removal script for Avast could not exists, but you still have the possibility to deploy your own remover or something provided by Avast using AdminKit.

It need to remove the Free version of Avast!, version is 4.8
i was looking for a removal tool and there is one for Avast but you need to adjust a setting in Avast to remove it remotely
But i'm looking for another solution

Hi,

As you probably noticed Avast 4.8 has a self-defense mechanism which prevents removal of this software using cleaners.

I already searched for a solution and could not find one, it is necessary to disable this option manually and then you can run all remover you want otherwise it will not work.

If you find something, please share...

try this:

Avast Removal Tool
http://avast.com/eng/avast-uninstall-utility.html
Caos
Yes, this is the uninstaller for avast.

Download link: http://files.avast.com/files/eng/aswclear.exe

But:

If you installed avast! in a different folder than the default, browse for it. (Note: Be careful! The content of any folder you choose will be deleted!)

Be carefully,

Since I have said previously, I think better option is remove manually. More work but you avoid problems.

This tool doesn't work if Self-Defense of Avast 4.8 is on.
I just need an automated solution for that and of course after that It is possible to deploy aswclear.exe easily with AK.
