We have a workstation which is currently not visible to the Admin server; I've run klnagchk.exe from the workstation and it connects to the admin server just fine, but in admin kit it's listed as not being visible and it hasn't received any updates since the 30th of September.

I've tried redeploying the software to the workstation but it doesn't seem to have made any difference (the deployment task completed OK).

Anyone got any ideas as to what might be wrong?

The workstation is running 6.0.3.837 and the admin server is 6.0.1572.

Hi Chris,

please take a look under Network. Domain. Is there a client with the same name?

Good catch, yes, there is. In fact there are two; one with ~6 appended to the name another with ~7; ~7 appears to be the one which is actually visible.

I've just removed the workstation from the group and added the machine from the domain which is actually showing up as being active and it seems to be working again now - will know for certain when it does an update.

It´s looks that you have a little network problem.

Yeah, which is what I'm now looking in to.

You wouldn't think my actual job title is "Developer".

AdminKit can not peoperly deal with networks with ONLY WINS server

In my case WINS (and all the name resolution works great, yet AK messes the IP of the clients)

The only way to change this odd behaviour was to allow client publish to DNS (NetWare)

This made it work better (still not sure that it is 100%)
