Full Version: Antivirus Not Installed after installing with admin kit
Kaspersky Lab Forum > English User Forum > Protection for Small and Medium Businesses
Dan Hulme
I am running into a similar problem to the one referenced here:

http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showt...rt=#entry780536

The network agent is listed as installed, but antivirus is not (even though it IS running on client).

I am installing from the administration kit, but it does not show as installed. I did install once locally, but I uninstalled completely, removed all folders and registry entries, and tried to install again (about 5 times now), and it still does not work. The anti-virus is indeed installed, but not with my policy settings, and the administration kit claims it is not installed.

Because I installed remotely, I know no way to verify the "integration module" is installed. However, it should install automatically if deployed from the admin kit, correct?

I have tried everything in the other thread, but no luck. I have 60 computers working, and one (the one I happened to install on manually at the beginning) that isn't. I just upgraded to kasp6.0.1710_adminkiten.exe, but it didn't help.

Firewall is off. Output of klnagchk:

Go to the machine and add/remove kazpersky. Do a MODIFY and verify if the administration kit component is installed.

The client will not let me do a "modify," only a remove. I don't know why, exactly.

once the av receive policy from adminkit, only remove option available.. modify will be grey out.. i think , option you have here, only to clean uninstall it, and reinstall again.. perhaps, reinstall the network agent with the latest version also..

Thank you, but I have already tried this. I have uninstalled many times, to no avail. I have reinstalled the network agent as many times. And I am using the latest version.

What seems strange is that it is installing through the Administration Kit, but the policy does not seem to take effect. But on all other computers, it installs the policy just fine. I don't know what to uninstall after uninstalling av and networkagent. I have manually deleted all program folder files, including common files, so I don't know what else to try.

Please check is there any same PC_name already in your KAK. Delete them if any before reinstall.

Yes, it is in the list, like *all* the other ones were before I installed. I click on the computer name, click on "install application onto computer" and go through the process. I did delete it and add it back to the group. However, I have not installed without it being in the group, is this the recommend method? Because in the past I installed only on computers that were already in the group...

OK, stop reinstalling nagent and wks and do following in the Administration Console:
1. Right-click Administration Server node
2. Select "Find computer..." command (see screenshot)
3. In the appeared find computer window type IEM-BILLP in the "Computer Windows name" field (see screenshot)
4. Press "Find Now" button
5. If serveral computers are found drag them into group where IEM-BILLP must be located. One of these computers will be real computer and others are extra shortcuts.

Only one computer is found. When I double click on it, it brings up the same window as the one in my group list, which lists agent as being installed, but KAV not. I guess I don't see what this was supposed to do...

Additional information:

It seems that now, the workstation is complaining about not having a license file. It refuses to start any of the protection components. It may have been doing this all along, the person using the machine assured me it was running (which it was--it was in the tray, etc., but protection appears not to really be enabled).

When I try to enable any of these things from the workstation itself, it gives the license error. The weird thing is, if I reinstall on the workstation (not with KAK, but with regular installer), it says "the license is already installed" and has the right license info.

Dan Hulme
Just got it to work by running the removal tool and reinstalling using the KAK.

I tried this in the past, but something must have changed, because this time it worked. Perhaps reinstalling locally before I ran it helped.

Thanks for help!
