Hi, what are the HW and SW requirements to deploy a Kaspersky Protection in a Lan with 5000 WorkStation?
Can I use the MSDE 2000 SP 3 for Kaspersky Administration Kit?
The MySql database is Reliable to this kind of use?
If I use only one server, how many memory the server will need?
If It was necessary to use 2 servers (admin Kit and DB server), what HW requirements was needed for each one?
Any recommendation is welcome.

Hi, what are the HW and SW requirements to deploy a Kaspersky Protection in a Lan with 5000 WorkStation?
- I would suggest 2Ghz of CPU and 1-1,5Go RAM (VM or physical machine); 2-2,5Go if the SQL server is on the same machine
Can I use the MSDE 2000 SP 3 for Kaspersky Administration Kit?
- No, MSDE is supported up to 500 clients; SQL Express, too... I don't beleive that your customer has 5000 users and no SQL Server license ;-)
The MySql database is Reliable to this kind of use?
- Personnaly I would no recommend it. If you insist, you MUST install the release 5.0.32, 5.0.34 or 5.0.36 to be supported.
If I use only one server, how many memory the server will need?
- RAM? Already answered, HDD? - It depends on the amount of installation packages you expect to have and if your SQL Server will be installed on the same machine or not.
If It was necessary to use 2 servers (admin Kit and DB server), what HW requirements was needed for each one?
- The half of one.
Based on my large account experience, there's a lot of possibilities (tips and tricks) to discharge your main administration server. You can externalize a lot of functionalities and have a "light-performance" machine that manages your thousands of clients without any problems.
You can for example externalize the database, externalize the updates, organize and fine tune your architecture so that the server will never get any "rush" and so on... I suggest you to contact someone that has ever realized a wide-network integration to help you to design your logical network and after that start to install.
If you start in the right way, you will not experience issues.
