About 3 times per week my system crashes with the infamous Windows "Blue Screen." Upon reboot (Vista), I am invited to have Windows check to see what caused the crash. Every time it reports that Kaspersky is to blame. Guess I'm going to have to go back to Norton.

I experience the same problem, and, unfortunately, there isn't a lot of information available. The error manifests itself as a BSOD and on reboot, Windows indicates it is a problem with the anti-virus software. I have no other anti-virus software except Kaspersky Internet Security 8.0.0.454. I have observed, however, that virtually everytime the event occurs, Vista has just downloaded an update (I have never been at the system when the error occurs; I just return to find the system waiting for my logon. At that point, Window states it has recovered from a fatal error and the cause is anti-virus software.) Windows updates are downloaded automatically but installed manually on my system. In every case that I can recall (probably a dozen or so), the downloaded update is a new Windows Defender definition file. If I don't install it, the system will run fine for a day or so, probably until a new definition file is downloaded replacing the old one.

Hi,

You must post in the home products forum, KIS v8.0.0.454 it´s a home product, not a corporate product.

Windows Defender it´s incompatible software with Kaspersky. Remove windows defender, review windows firewall it´s not activated.

Post your getsysteminfo: review http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showtopic=915

And the recomendation when you have BSOD it´s open a support ticket en Kaspersky helpdesk, the BSOD normally it´s a driver problem, you must send Kaspersky your dumps, getsysteminfo, etc...

Regards

Windows Defender under Vista may be the problem. It's turned on for my laptop (on which the problem occurs) and turned off on my tower (on which the problem does NOT occur). I'll see if that will solve the issue. Thanks.
