Nice work! I think it would be best to wait a little though because I made some alterations to one of the skins in an earlier build, then after upgrading to the next build, it began crashing with the skin. So I ended up having to keep updating the skin file, until I just gave up with it....

I don't like your KIS skin version at all - this red colour environment does not initiate possitive and relaxing impressions - the red colour usualy means danger/forbiden/warning..., you know, only negative feelings... I think the KL skin is much more relaxing and nice with this green and light blue colours..., it makes me feel comfortable, safe, relaxing...

How did you make it? Is there any additional software or something?

well i think the skin is not bad at all, there are some elements that could be used as default

anyway, if people like the skin or not is a thing of a taste and the fact iitself that you made an real working skeen is IMO great. i think KL developers could share some space on their developer ftp server and make a folder for user contributed skins, what do you think?

I’m not very concerned about skins and so on, but sometimes I change my desktop background when I feel for an alteration. “It is a thing of a taste”, saso said. True; to me the Kaspersky red was too red. I’m not skilful at all when it comes to working with images, but I’m able to modify title.png from red to (non-gradient) green. Combined with the default ‘System color’ checkbox, my KIS has a personalized look I like.

This is a good demonstration of the skin features in KAV_KIS. Thanks again, Montana.

Last minute: And now you have published a GREEN option!

Edit: After some hours, I found my red/green/white top banner to be too much Christmas like. Montana’s “Green Full” is much nicer!

you are right the skin definition file is different on other languages and will work only with the english vs.,i think there should be a single standard for the skin definition file!!!

I dont understand why i would use a skin in a antivirus;
First, uses more memory, and second, sometimes lags, when u try restoring the program.
Can someone help me, kuz i dont really see why u need skins, kuz for me antivirus are beutiful ( 100% virus cleaner ) when they act like beutiful people (me). LoL, LoL LoL

I have downloaded "KIS".

rename it to "KIS.zip" that works fine for me.

We waited this thread for long time...

We are thinking to change the way "Skin path" setting is working:
now all the skin should be there, bit it would be nice, that if file is absent in this folder, engine will take it from default place...
So, alternate skin can contain just modified bitmaps and some modified ini files.
It will be much more "compatible"
