Full Version: Problem with Terminal Services Profile and Windows Server Enterprise

We have recently been rolling out Kaspersky Enterprise Space Security

We have 5 x Windows Server Enterprise 2003. These servers are used only for Terminal Services (Remote Desktop).

When a use logs in, their profile is copied locally to the “Documents and Settings” directory. In active directory this is from “Terminal Services – Profile Path”

When we enable Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Server Enterprise, these users get a message that the computer is unable to download their profile so they lose all of their settings when they login.

The only way to fix the problem is to disable Real Time scan. Please find us a way so users can still login to terminal services without disabling their profile.

We also found that we could login successfully if we had Administrator rights. What do we need to modify so KAV won't block the regular user profiles from downloading.

If anyone has a solution to this so we can again enable real time scanning it would be great. My reseller support in Bangkok was completely useless on this issue, as they don't know what Terminal Services is.

Hello,

We already have examined this problem and have found the solution. Today or tomorrow we'll publish several critical fixes. Critical Fix 4 must fix your problem. But I advise you to install all critical fixes, because all of them are very important.

Please schedule your modules update task to start in convenient time tomorrow or later and all critical fixes wil be installed (or information about them will be available - it depends on task settings).

Hi,

We ran the update and it worked for about 24hours. The next time we restarted the servers we met the same problem when people tried to login again. So this issue hasn't been fixed.

Hello,

As it has been told above, in some cases these CriticalFixes where not helpful. Just on last friday we succeded in reproducing the issue in our testlab even with suggested cf. That's why we decided not to publish that CF but to solve the problem completely.

Sorry you have to wait solution for so long time.

We will inform you about any positive results as soon as possible.

//WSEE critical fixes do not require OS reboot. The fact of modules update will be published in product Audit log with the "Modules update has been applied" event.

Thank you.

We experienced similar issues when we installed EE on our Windows 2003 Terminal Servers (w/Citrix XenApp 4.5). Users attempting to log on would experience a long delay, then would get a message that their profile could not be loaded and they would be logged on with a temp profile. We quickly removed EE and things went back to normal, though one of the servers did not come back up (blue screen as soon as the Windows Server Splash/Loading screen disappears).

Do any of the fixes address possible blue screens?

I've been hesitant to reinstall for fear of another firestorm at our helpdesk or more lost servers. It also happened to be the first day of school for our district. Probably could have been planned better, but that's what happened.

We had this Problem - and the Critical fixes fixed it with version .551 - The same problem has re appeared in Application Version 6.0.2.555 - and there are no critical fixes available!
