I just bought Kaspersky Antivirus 7.0 .1 321 version. Think its the commercial version and I have been trying to upgrade to 8.0 without any success. I went to downloads for US and hit server 3 since they said it didn't matter which one I chose. Then I went to my 7.0 version icon in bottom right corner hit exit and went to start, control and selected remove and chose to save application objects restarted computer and then I tried to open the new version 8.0 that was on my desktop and a big box NSCII or something like that said file was corrupt and that it either had missing files or a virus. Yea, since I just had my computer wiped out by a virus Norton didn't catch and had to lose all my programs , I am disgusted right now. I have been trying To upgrade this for several days now and I can't get anyone one the phone, live chat took 2 hours and then I was cut off for some reason. I did do a open case file but that was because I wasn't sure which server to download. I tried to download server 1 and it was about half way through downloading so I walk off for a short minute and I came back and no download box was there( it vanished!!)????? so I am trying for the 3rd time and if it says its corrupt too then what do I do? THanks for any good advice to help me straighten this out for Good. I am wanting to do this as soon as possible because I uninstall the 7.0 except for application objects so I don't have protection? So someone please please help me.

during the first download, were you still downloading when you exited kis?
which browser are you using? any download managers or web accelerators?

Browser is IE7. No web accelerators I can think off. It won't download it says that it couldn't download because the connection with the server was reset. What does that mean?

probably that the server is busy. did you try both http and ftp servers?

No I waited till it said download complete before I exit

It has FTP and HTTP headings but you can't click on them. The only thing in columns for downloads is in the HTTP one.

I don't know about download managers I wouldn't think so since they wiped everything off my computer but XP

Hey where did you find that I hit on the link and I am trying to download now. We will see if this works. I haven't heard of FTP what does that stand for? I know of HTTP but not FTP sorry not computer genius

I hope you don't have to leave anytime soon this thing is a 6percent. I have the slowest dialup I hate it!

File Transfer Protocol FTP I am learning and trying to learn more as I go along, its alot to learn. Its a 37 percent now I am crossing my fingers.

Okay I am getting ill now. It got to 80 percent and the same box came up and said it couldn't be downloaded because the connection with the server was reset. What do I do. I can't leave my computer without protection.

seems the problem is your internet connection, the connection can not remain established for that long. you could try another browser, also try a download manager (usually they can cause more problems when downloading, but it's not like it's going perfect now), like http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/

When I tried to download the link you gave me the box pop up saying the connection with the server was reset and then right after that the I lost my internet connection. But the 4-5 times I tried to download before I still had internet connection So I don't know. I just had a nasty virus cleaned off my computer and I don't want to start downloaded stuff that just causes more problems. Do you suggest to try the download manager and then just uninstall it after I get it downloaded if that is even possible.

I am trying to download one more time the file link you gave me to see if I lose connection. Also I have had to download updates for my computer that take hours and I have been able to download them So I am not sure still about it being a connection problem unless I am not understanding some point about that.

I finally got that file to download but when I went to open it wouldn't open said file was corrupt either missing files or virus This happened before the first time I tried actually it downloaded all the way and did the same thing but I was not even downloading the same file. THis is strange. It either doesn't download all the way or when it does it says its corrupt. I dunno or understand this one at all.

Yes but they aren't close by and why are asking what would be the solution in this case? I am going back to DSL as soon as I can. I was on DSL but it kept getting more expensive so I went back to dialup but its so annoying that I don't know how much more of it I can take, its the downloading that sucks or if you need to look at alot of files it aggravating. I think Kaspersky is going to send me a 2009 CD to solve my problem I talk to Dave in Live chat yet I don't know if I told him it was Anti virus hope he doesn't send Internet security. Thats probably the best thing to do in my case. Do you know why it says the file is corrupt ? Has anyone else had that problem that you know of? It happen twice but with 2 different files so I dunno.

Well its day 4 and I don't have the cd yet I emailed dave in live support and he is out of the office. He said it would take 3-4 days for me to get it. Anyway what does the transfer rate need to be to download this upgrade anyway? Just asking if anyone knows. I mean if the only reason I am not able to download is because of my connection this sucks. I still would like to know why it says the files were corrupt when I did get some downloaded.

You just gave the answer yourself, because your connection...............................is bad......speed is not essencial, but stability is...... for a dialup connection this is a large download and theres nothing we can do about that (your bad connection), so you will simply have to wait for the Cd to arrive as annoying as it is.

I never lost connection except one time when trying to download but it is slow. How would I know the stability if its still connected?

You have just posted several posts about your connection resetting multiple time and that your only "successfull" download ended up being corrupted, it's (dropouts) not uncommong with dialup..................wait for the CD, it will probably come in a day or two.
