Full Version: Getting Support

OK chaps, what am I missing?

I am having huge problems with anti spam. - I add a domain (eg @ebay.co.uk) to the white list, (IS 2009), but all messages still get dumped into the spam folder.

I try to ask a technical question, and still have 281 days of 'support' left.
In order to do this I Need to register and get a 'customer id'.
In order to register I need either a 'key file' or an 'activation code'

Any ideas where I might find either or these? I have my licence key, which is no good, and cannot be copied/ pasted.
I am subscirbed to the forums (obviously), but nothing there has been of any help.
A search of the registry gives no clues
There is no cust*.txt on my machine. "Help" appears to be an oxymoron. It says I should have received a 'key file' but doesn't indicate what it moght be called. or where it might be. - I have well over a million files on my computer.
I have no emails from Kasperky labs at all, anywhere.
There are no files in the Kaspersky folders that heve 'key' in their name.
Clearly the code has at some time been sent to my pc from the ones at Kaspersky, but where is it all hidden???

What do I have to do?????

The key files will have an extension of "key" like so --> blahblahblahfile name.key you can run the search that way. Is this for a home user product or for corporate?

Thanks for this tip.

I have several machine at home, and the licence reports that it is "Commercial for 3 computers"

A search for files with an extension of "key" reveals nothing usefule at all.
6 files with a key extension all of them under documents and settings\......\DRM, and varying sizes between 2K and 230K.

So, on the face of it, my product has been activated, but the evidence deleted. - No response from kaspersky so far.

If it makes any difference, OS is XP at SP3.

You have a home product. You posted in the wrong section. this is for corporate and business products.

As for access to support - when you activated the product with your 20 digit activation code (xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx) you were prompted to enter an email. That email would have e-mailed your customerID and password to you.

Thanks for this SYN:

So Ihave a choice of posting on "Home" or "Corporate and Business". - My Licence says
"Commercial for 3 computers" - from which I'm supposed to interpret that it's a "Home" product?

AND

In order to get any support from Kaspersky (who still haven't respondeed in any way), I am expected to save an email I received when first activating the product, rather than being able to use any of the information stored with the product that is freshly validated every day when it checks for updates?

Is it just me that sees a customer service flaw there somewhere?

I have now searched my emails for "kaspersky", "customerID" and "key file". - No luck. A search in Kaspersky technical support for "CustomerID" finds nothing. Plenty of information on what a key file is for, but none on how to find one.

I will repost on the home forum, and see if anything useful comes back.

Thanks again.
