Hi all.

We want to install Kaspersky on our Windows Server 2003 machines running Terminal Services. The clients will be accessing files, using Outlook and accessing the Internet through their Terminal Services connection. Workstation refuses to install, but Kaspersky for File Servers does. But it doesn't seem to have Mail or Web Anti-Virus modules as part of the installation.

Can anyone suggest which would be the best product to use here? Preferably in the version 6 range but if something better exists then we'll consider it.

Cheers.
Helmut
The best product for you is Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Server Enterprise Edition.

I have the same issue. I am running 1/2 of my users on terminal servers on a windows 2003 box. I am looking at the Kaspersky Server Enterprise Edition as sugested above, but I do not see anything about being able to install or have the Mail Anti-virus(for outlook clients), the Anti Hacker, the Anti Spam or the Anti Spy modules. Does Enterprise edition have all, any or none of theres. As of now I am running File Server 6.0.3.837 and the only module it has is File Anti-Virus. I to tried to install the workstation 6 on the terminal server and it will not let you.

Thanks
Jim

Hi,

Review http://www.kaspersky.com/anti-virus_window...rver_enterprise , Kaspersky Antivirus for windows server enterprise edition don´t have the same options as kaspersky antivirus for windows workstations, is the version for Servers (not have firewall, anti spam, etc...). The server isn´t for download mail, etc....

Then this is not the right product for terminal server, clients run applications on terminal server, they tend to run those applications used on the desktop including email. If they use outlook when they log in locally on xp they set the rule for moving spam to particular folder, it seems to be removed once they log on to the terminal services client and then go back to local pc . spyware is also required, and presumably absent. Are we saying that if clients use terminal services then Kaspersky don't do a product that covers them as completely as they are covered under XP. It seems to me terminal server is in more critical need of protection than single user pc's
