Would it be possible to set the time an event box appears on screen? It would be useful to be able to set a longer period. This morning I received a warning about imageshack, which I'd never heard of before, plus I was in the middle of doing something else, so couldn't "absorb" the event text before it disappeared. I checked in Settings>Notifications but couldn't find anything to change the timescale.

no you can't but notifications usually stay long enough on the screen, provided no other event that hasa notification takes place
