I am a bit disappointed that I can not add (n#) of custom scans.

Ideally I would have:

A startup Scan to make sure I am not loading something unknown into resident memory

A daily quick scan that scans for internet related virii and malware

A weekly scan that is a bit more indepth that covers my entire local disk C: (Med type scan)

A monthly scan that covers the entire machiene (Med/strong type scan)

A monthly (deep) scan exclusively for rootkits

Since my machine is on all the time this type of regiment would be ideal.

My only problem is that KIS does not allow me to add scheduled scans beyond the default 2 scans.

Not having this feature means that If I want to look for something perticular I have to enable that feature and run a manual scan. Then change the settings back afterwards.

There are alot of thins I like about KIS.....this is not one of them.

hello
this is not needed. you don't have to run full scans if you have protection enabled. malware will be detected through the new protection components, such as hips without need to run scans over and over.
the quickscan equivalets to the startup scan, if you want it, set it to run at each start.

and the point is? if it's malware it's malware, do yo want to scan the internet for them or what....?

the anti-rootkit scan is integrated into other scans, so this is pointless, why do you need two scans for the same thing?

you wouldn't get that many malware, this scan plan is a waste of time
the ability to add custom scans will be added later on.

My point was to limit the amount of time a user has to endure the lost resources of a scan. Quicker scans are more likely to be tolerated by endusers.

Thank you for the heads up on adding custom scans.

"and the point is? if it's malware it's malware, do yo want to scan the internet for them or what....?"

For example in the business security suite....
I have programmers who often turn off the real time scanner. They need the ability to turn it off as some of their apps have issues with AV running.

That forced daily scan is the only defense I can provide for them.

There are other instances.

FYI.
We use the corporate suites on our desktops and the home suites on the laptops.

I want to talking about another figure annoy me and need improvement:
When I was using Kaspersky 6.0 Antivirus, every time a detection of a threat such as registry or program online request etc. A alert window POPS UP for it, which is brilliant.

However, When I am using Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 (KIS) (version 8.0.0.357). The alert window is no longer pops individually. Instead, it pops up inside the window of the program that is causing it. Sometimes, I can see and click on the attached alert window for confirmation, but sometimes, it just pops up and then disappeared?! This causing freeze on most of my program because I can no longer see the alert window for confirmation.

Coud you change the setting back to Kaspersky 6.0 Antivirus that allow me to switch to a indepedent alert window for security confirmation. Or how can I do it in KIS 2009?

Many Thanks!
