I'm using Veritas NetBackup 5.1 MP6 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Workstations. Windows XP SP2.

Kaspersky breaks Netbackup, even when disabled. I have not even installed the firewall component. Disabling protection makes no difference.

It breaks off the communication between the Netbackup Server and my client workstation. The specific netbackup error messages on the server is :

Error BPBRM(pid=4144) socket read failed. An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. (10054)

Kaspersky does not report any threat or problem. The only fix is uninstalling Kaspersky.

Any help would be appreciated much, we would like to switch from Symantec to Kaspersky for our AV solution.

Thanks,
Dave Eisenlord

Hello,

What version of KAV Workstations are you using (6.0.x.x) ?
Check that you are using the latest, which is build 6.0.3.837
And finally, try to remove Kaspersky Anti-Virus, restart and reinstall the product without the NDIS Filter.

I'm using 6.0.3.837. I uninstalled and reinstalled with /pNOKLIM5=1 to use the previous interception driver, no dice. Same problem, even with protection disabled.

Further ideas?
