Full Version: Wrong IP in Admin Kit

I have a customer running Kaspersky for Windows Servers and Kaspersky for Windows Workstations..

Admin Kit: Ver. 6.0.1572
Network Agent: Ver. 6.0.1572

I replaced the computer and joined it to the domain using the same workstation name. After installing Kaspersky for Windows Workstations and Network Agent, the workstation shows as the wrong IP in the Admin Kit.

I can't synchronize or obtain information using the admin kit (protection is unknown and applications are inactive).

DNS is working properly. I can ping the workstation, and when I run \\workstation\admin$, I can see the root of the C: drive on the workstation. The workstation shows in DNS and DHCP as .108 while the IP in the Admin Kit shows as .107.

I've deleted and added the workstation using the wizard several times in the Admin Kit using both automatic and manual. The manual fails, but the automatic adds the workstation to the domain group.

I've tried pushing the Network Agent and antivirus package from the Admin Kit and installing manually using \\server\KLSHARE. Neither will make the workstation connect correctly with Kaspersky Admin Kit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Run the klmover utility from the workstation then connection will be restored.
You can read this FAQ for further details.

I did as you suggested (ran KLMOVER utility from the workstation after running the Network Agent install from the workstation) and have the same problem. The workstation IP is listed as .107 in the Admin Kit and it is .108 on the domain.

I think you are probably viewing the wrong host in your Administration Console, maybe a ghost with the same name has been created. Check in the Network Group if a computer with approximatively the same NetBios name with ~ caracter (ex: computer~1) is visible in the domain or workgroup this computer belongs.

Also run klnagchk.exe utility, this executable is located on the host, in the installation folder of the workstation. Paste here the result of this utility.

There was a ghost entry under workgroup similar to the workstation name, ~linda. I removed it. Here is the output for klngchk.exe from the workstation.

Hello,

According to the klnagchk report, communication is ok.
About the ghost entry you deleted, what was the color of this host in the Administration Console ? I mean, if it was grey light, then it means that you have deleted the host which is considered by your Administration Server as the real "LINDA" computer. In this case and if this host has reappered in the network group, move it to the logical group and try to synchronize it. If it works, delete the other computer having the name "LINDA" from the logical group, then delete it from the network group, and rename the ghost entry with the correct name.

I hope my explanations are clear blink.gif biggrin.gif

Tylbilly

There was a workstation named Linda~2 in the Administration Server. Unfortuately, I can't access the workstation on the network. She may have shut it down. I will try again later.

You instructions were very clear. Thank you for your help with this issue.
