I have KAV 6.0.2.551 WSEE on a file server. When the protection is running, it takes roughly 30 seconds to open a file stored on that server from a workstation. If I disable the protection on that server, it opens up immediately. Is there anyway to speed this up?
Thanks
Hello,
What kind of files (extension) are you opening ?
You can increase productivity of your server by changing some settings, more details in this
FAQ.
I've only tested with .pdf and .doc extensions so far. It seems .pdf files take about 30 seconds to open everytime, whereas .doc files take 3-6 seconds. If I disable the protection on the server, they both open instantly. I'll look at the FAQ and see if any of those things work, but if you have any other suggestions, please feel free to share.
Thanks
edit: btw, when opening the files from a server running KAVSE, files that are larger than those I've tested on KAVWSEE, they open instantly. So this seems to be an issue with KAVWSEE only.
I was reading a topic @
http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showt...68912&st=20 which seems to be identical problems to what I'm having. I didn't realize it before, but I am also have issues where the workstations freeze accessing the server, as did the guy in that topic. I had this same issue, but didn't think it was KAV until reading that. Unfortunately, I can't install KAV for fileservers as this guy did to fix his problems. I'm running Windows Server 2008 as a DC. Any ideas?
