Many users would like to have back the scan duration extimated time as in version 7.0

it was removed because it won't be accurate as kis doesn't know what the next file and if it's an archive how long it will take will be etc etc

I want the ETA brought back, too. I always found it accurate enough in 6.0, and very accurate for shorter scans or when not scanning archives. I did not try 7.0.

At minimum it should be brought back as a comfort for users that want it, as it doesn't cause any issues by not being dead accurate all the time.

with the new heuristics it's not so accurate, you will encounter some executables which kis processes for a fairly long time, also since users inevitabely have archives (a help file is an archive) it doesn't. also because of auto throtleling it's hard to calculate duration because the cpu usage fluctuates. note that version 8 also supports multi core so it's even harder to compute the time now as cores are used when needed and when not occupied by other applications (v6 ad v7 only supported a single core so it was easier)

Oh, I guess that all does make it pretty useless now. Thanks for the explanation. Well, RIP ETA. *Moment of silence*
