We are having exactly the same problem in our office. As far as I know it is affecting every machine (some running XP SP2, some running XP SP3 with Office 2003, Some running Vista SP1 with Office 2007). The version running is Kaspersky 6.0.3.837 hotfix b.c.d on the machine that I have just checked. Only some .msg files are affected - others open fine. On machines not running Kaspersky, or with it disabled, Outlook opens the .msg files with no problems.
Can you send one or two of problem files in archive so we can to reproduce the issue in our office?
