Google has a custom search engine that allows you to enter in sites you deem 'reliable' for whatever search query you expect your customers to type.

I'm not suggesting you guy's sleep with the enemy or anything; however, the 'view on viruslist.com' tool would be a lot more useful if you could trust it to search every reliable virus list online. Never again would you have to manually type the name of your virus in on google to do due diligence. Kaspersky would take care of all the inconvenience b_punk.gif

One of the reason's google offer's custom search is because it gives them another metric to determine relevancy in online content. In this context, if people end their searches at viruslist.com 90% of the time and virusn.com 10% of the time: you can expect Google to make an adjustment in their national search rankings. Specifically, viruslist.com will be ranked higher and virusn.com will be nerfed. Maybe you should consider sleeping with the enemy smile.gif

hello
it is impossible to have all the malware listed, there are simply to many variants, the descriptions are written for the most common malware and it is updated

In that case, can you insert a 'search this virus on google' button as well? Right now you can't even cut and paste the text, meaning that if I want to do a google search, I have to manually type the name of the virus into the search box. Its kind of like calling 411, but not being auto connected and having to remember the phone number they give you.

I can understand what you are saying and agree to some extent on the first suggestion, more detail would be a great bonus.
However I'll pick the resources going to other more productive things like detection.

As for a google link, we will end up with users actually getting more infected from googling, no pun, just looking around google for malware links isn't a good thing for a newbie. wink.gif
Those that know a little more don't need to google too much, or even use it, to get a link to one of the other virus company's descriptions if they want to research.
