I've set up an Administration Kit server with a couple of servers and workstations. The servers update nicely through Administration kit, but the workstations won't.

I've set up a policy, created a group task wich is sheduled every hour.

If I open settings on a workstations I see the screen below:

I can control every single option through the policy I've created except for 'run mode' wich was set to manually. When I change it to 'automatically' KAV gets its updates through the administration kit.

How can I control this option through the Administration kit?
Helmut
You are looking into the local update task. You can only disable this task in the policy.

You can control the update through the admin kit.

Hi, can you be more specific where about to disable this task in the policy. I look thru every single option and I dont' see.

Thanks

I have the same problem, how can I set client updates to be Automatic? It defaults to "Manually" and you can't change "Run Mode" settings in the policy.

Many thanks.

You can set at Groups > Policies > KAVWWP properties > setting > update ( Need to check all setting is applied
to your network environment, else once "APPLY", all effected.)
or just change the setting under group tasks for all clients.
But please take note about mobile users and office desktop users setting as well.

Thanks for the reply. in the policy settings > update you cannot set anything here, all the other properties are fine??

I've gone into the group tasks and looked at the properties of the Updater and the schedule is set to "On receipt of updates by Administration Server" which you would expect to mean the client side equivelent of "Automatically" in the "Run Mode" settings, but it isn't?

I'm still not clear on how to set "Run Mode" to "Automatically" via the administation kit. If I manually change it client side then when the policy refreshes, it sets it back to "Manually" again.

Does anyone have the solution?

Thanks

Please try to create a new task for update and test with what you desire to set.
Hope this solve your problem.
In my environment, On receipt of Updates by Admin Server and 3hourly in individual are working.
Sorry no idea.

I can create a group update task that updates every (x) hours and I believe that will work 100%. I guess there is no way to set "Run Mode" to "Automatically" which seems very odd blink.gif

Thanks for trying.
