Hi, a customer gets an error when he tries to run the application (testwinsock.exe) in attachment.
He gets the error just with KAV for WKS 6.0.3.837 (both with all modules enabled and all module disabled and KAV not in running state). With KAV for Servers 6.0.3.837 on a Server OS the application works fine (and the window showed in testwinsocket.jpg appears).

This application just opens an UDP socket on port 8002. The error is in attachment (error.jpg) and means that it's not possible to initialize the socket.

Can you try it?

Thank you in advance.

Hi there,
we're verifying a similar problem when trying to bind to a generic local port (we've written a VB sample reproducing this behaviour). We made several tests and we found out that the problem is on PDM module...so pls, try to install the whole KAV packages but PDM one. If this scenario will work, you have to install the PDM feature only, turn on the tracer, reproduce the problem, turn off the tracer, collect those traces, open a ticket on Helpdesk and send to KL guys everything you've collected....this is what we've done and we're waiting for some news from Moscow...smile.gif

Hello,

Enable compatibility mode under "Settings" > "Service" > Check the option "Compatibility mode for programs using self-protection methods".
Reboot the computer
Test your application, it should works.

Yes, it seems that it works fine.

Thank you for your suggestion.
