Hi.
I've installed KAV 6.0 for Windows Files server on my server. After this installation i had to disable Self-Defense otherwise I'm not able to use VNC Service.

What does Self-defense protects? Is there a way for my to activate Self-defense and use VNC?

Thank you.
Tybilly
Hello,

You will find more details about why it is necessary to disable Self-Defense to manage KAV remotely on this FAQ.

Since the recent Autoupdate, you should be able to keep Self-Defense on and to use WinVNC, you have to add the main executable of this software to the trusted zone.

adding WinVNC in trusted zone will be helpfull only for KAV 6 MP3 for Windows Workstations.
It's not work for KAV 6 for Windows File Server

Not in this release sad.gif
In new MP it will be fixed, I hope.

You can use VNC to manipulate not KAV 6.0 for FS applications. And for changing settings of KAV for FS you can use Administration Kit Console.

unfortunately my VNC does not work for anything with Self-Defense enabled on file server. I Can connect with vnc but it get stuck. I can use it just if i disable Self-Defense.

Anyway, thank you for this information! I'll have to maintain Self-Defense disabled.

I have the same problem.

I only can manage my servers (Win2003) when the "Self-Defense" is disabled. But, not only to change the configuration of KAV console, but to do anything. I cannot do nothing when the Self-Defense is enabled.

But, when i disable the "Self-Defense" option i can access through VNC.

I've put the winvnc and the path of VNC at the "exclusion mask" but, didnt make effect.

Some help?

Here is an example for the verdict.

To exclude WinVNC program enter the mask not-a-virus:RemoteAdmin.Win32.WinVNC*.

And deactivate "Disable external service control" additionally.
