Full Version: KAV 6.0.3.837 BSOD with 5/28/2008 update
Kaspersky Lab Forum > English User Forum > Protection for Small and Medium Businesses

The update dated 5/28/2008 7:52AM CST prompted our users to reboot. Upon rebooting they get a BSOD and a never ending cycle of reboots. Has anyone else seen this? I would be cautious about rebooting if you haven't done so yet.

We are running Vista Business with SP1. A "check for solutions" message from Microsoft recommends uninstalling Kaspersky.

I have found a workaround. Boot to safe mode, load Kaspersky, disable self-defense, rename c:\windows\system32\drivers\kl1.sys and klif.sys.
Also rename updater.dll under c:\program files\Kaspersky... (this cripples the updater so that it doesn't replace the above two files (could instead set updates to manual). I plan to leave updates disabled until a fix is released.
