Hello,

This is most likely a bug, so I hope someone at Kaspersky will be able to reproduce or describe the issue correctly.

(All version of Kaspersky softwares used are the absolute latest as of may 20th, 2008).

I installed the Administration Kit with the Local System Account (Instead of an administrative account). I then deployed KAV 6.0 workstation to a client, using the default account (instead of specifying an administrative account) - which I assume is the "local system account". The Agent deploys without issue, and reports back, but KAV 6.0 itself does not communicate properly and fails to report anything. Once I realized the issue, I uninstalled KAV & Agent to redeploy using an administrative account, but this keeps failing. KAV fails to install using the deployment wizard and the manual file share on the Administration Kit server. Nothing short of reinstalling Windows solves this issue. The same problem occurs with Windows XP SP2/3 and Windows Vista.

Has anyone else run into this issue?

Operating System: Small Business Server 2003 R2 (SBS 2003)

Is there a Kaspersky "cleanup" tool of some kind to completely purge whatever registry/dll, rogue files that might still exist on a workstation that would prevent KAV 6.0 from reinstalling properly? Has this been acknowledged as an issue?

You can find the Removal-Tool here.

The URL you gave me was incorrect, but searching for it revealed this URL: http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=193239279

Hopefully this will solve the issue of re-deploying KAV (using the wrong credentials).

Thanks!
