Hi guys, I hope you can help. I have inherited a situation whereby a server running the admin kit has failed and has subsequently been formatted/reinstalled (The backup recovery from tape was unsuccessful).
The server is running Windows Advanced Server 200 SP4 and the Admin Kit version was 6.0.1405 (kasp6.0.1405_adminkiten.exe). The server is ready for the admin kit to back on; BUT, I have no backup file of the configuration (i.e. the policy and structure of the admin kit). I do have access to the tape drive with the original installation of the admin kit:
c:\program files\Kaspersky Lab\...
Kaspersky Administration Kit
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers
Before I tackle this, what is my best hope of recovering the admin kit structure?
To add, I would prefer to install the newest version of the admin kit if at all possible (6.0.1591)
Many thanks in advance.
Steve
Hi,
Having files stored in the installation folder of Administration Kit and Antivirus for server will not help you, just to recover the certificate.
Administration Server datas are stored in the database, for example if you use Microsoft Desktop Engine as DB you'll find them in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data\ (KAV.mdf and KAV_log.LDF).
Well, even with database files I'm not sure you can recover your Administration Server in this way...

OK, it looks like I will have to start from scratch.
Just looking at the product updates under 'Business Products' there is no mention of 'Kaspersky Anti-Virus' (this only falls under the 'Home User' products). Under there I notice that Version 7 is now available.
Is this ready to use in on workstations and with the admin kit?
Is there a newer version of the network agent available? (I currently have NetAgent 6.0.1405 MSI)
