Full Version: Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Server ---> Crashes my Server 2008

When I install Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Server, and then update, it asks for a reboot, when it boots, right where it says "loading your desktop...' I get a BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH and reboots (in a loop).

It does not do this in a Windows Server 2008 OS.

Any ideas why? and maybe a fix?

System Specs:

Windows Server 2008 Enterprise OS
AMD Opteron CPU
2GB DDR1 RAM
74GB Raptor Hdd
DFI SLI-Expert Motherboard
eVGA GeForce 8800GT 512MB Video Card
XFi SoundBlaster Sound Card

Thanks!

At the moment haven´t a version to Windows 2008 Server.

You have to install Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Server Enterprise

If you review http://www.kaspersky.com/anti-virus_window...rver_enterprise

OK, I just installed the Enterprise edition, but it is grayed out (Inactive). Doesn't have a 30 days trial mode?

Thanks!

hi
i had the same problem in vmware for testing server2008 and kav 6.0.3.837 server version. The cause is a newer klif.sys.
Reboot in safe mode, remove kav with kavremover.exe. Reboot in normal mode, install kav and disable "update application modules" then make a update.
Kind regards

Does KAV for Windows Servers not support W2K3 Enterprise Server running terminal services?

I've installed it on 2 such servers and it has resulted in stop errors (Event ID: 6008 - Last reboot was unexpected). The reboots occur once every 2 days on both servers.

Do I need to switch to the enterprise edition of KAV for TS support?

Kind Regards,

You definitively have to use WSEE 6.0.2.555 if you have Citrix or Microsoft Terminal Services running.

Thanks for the response. I've gone ahead with Enterprise and all is well.

Cheers!
