The below option (see file attachment) from the "Network" view has stopped working on my network. New computers no longer move into the "staging" group that I have set when Kaspersky sees them on the network. I have to move them by hand.

Anyone know how to get this working again?

Hi there,
Try upgrade your Kaspersky Administration Kit to version 6.0.1572.
You can download from here :

http://dnl-us5.kaspersky-labs.com/products..._adminkiten.exe

Backup the current adminkit, then install the latest version on top of current version.
Set the option again and see if it's working.

Hello,
once you have done what lolipok properly suggested, you can get what you want in 2 ways:
1) you can setup moving rule for Network group: this may allow you to further move (manually) workstation to another logical group.
2) you can setup moving rule for Group group: this may allow you to further move (manually) workstation to another group but workstation will be returned back immediately.
Bye
M.

I am managing a "slave" admin server. Does it matter what version of the Adminkit the "master" is running?

Hi,
Master Server for Kaspersky Administration Kit must be latest/even version than slave server. You must first upgrade the Kaspersky Administration Kit on Master Server before upgrading on slave server.

Make sure you do a backup for Kaspersky Administration Kit on Master Server before installing the latest version on top of current version.

well then this won't help me since I have no access to the Master. Any other ideas. Keep in mind this USED TO work.

Hello,

Try to restart the service "Kaspersky Administration Service" from the services MMC.

Also what about mastropizza has suggested before ? Have you tried both options ?

D.

I was already using #1. I stated that it used to work. Can't use #2 as it permanently ties the machine to the group that it is moved to.

Also, I didn't mention it, but I have restarted the entire server multiple times, so I think that would cover "restarting the service".

On another note, I went and installed latest version (even though Master may not be at same level), It didn't change a thing. Still no go. How do I downgrade? I tried to install earlier version and it complains that I am running latest version. Following Knowledge Base, it says to uninstall, but I can't use already running DB, I have to start fresh. Can't I use the backup copy from before I did the upgrade?

Hi,
You can use the backup copy of the old Kaspersky Administration Kit to restore if you want to downgrade.

So..

1. Uninstall version 1572
2. Install version 1565
3. restore DB

4. Should I push agent 1572 or 1565 going forward after downgrade?

thank you sir.

I found out (after some more playing around) that it appears there is something wrong with one of the subnetworks that I am trying to move. I noticed the following:
1. created a new group "movehere"
2. set properties of subnetwork A to move to "movehere"
3. that worked, so I set properties of subnetworks B, C, & D to move to "movehere"
4. that worked for a while, then stopped. removed subnetwork A. all others started working again.
5. multiple tries..recreating subnetwork A (changing ip range settings multiple times) / reassigning to different groups / etc.
6. would work for a bit (sometimes only for 1 machine) then stop.

It seems that if I take the one subnetwork out of the equation, everything seems to function properly. Any other ideas or suggestions?

Possibly those cpmputers are found by some other type of network scan. Try to turn off other types types of network scan.

OK, now I only have IP subnetworks checked. Let's see what happens. I had Windows network checked off as well.
