Hi folks!

Given a situation in which Kaspersky Administration Kit is currently running in a dedicated server and is already connected to workstations, then the network adminstrator changes the Server name and the IP address of the Adminitration Kit.

Should this event happen, what steps can we do to keep the workstations connected to the Administration Kit? Do we have to install another batch of Network Agent to each computer so that the admin kit can communicate again with the workstations?

Thanks very much for the help!

Hi there,

If the situation you mention is just like what I imagine, maybe this will help. Please see the attachment.

Thanks for the info!

However, the situation would be that the administration kit server changed its own server name and IP address, not transferring the administration from one server to another.

Thanks again for the help!!!

Hi there,

How many computer that connected to the adminkit? If you have a patch management it will be easier. You just need to run a batch file to point all the network agent to the new changed name and IP address server.

Here's how to do it :

1- Backup the Kaspersky Administration Kit (in case if you encounter any problem while doing this process)
2- Completely uninstall Kaspersky Administration Kit
3- Change the server name and IP address
4- Install Kaspersky Administration Kit
5- If you have patch management, run the batch file (see attachment) to all computer. This batch file will point the network agent to the server.
6- In case you don't have any patch management, you can manually run the batch file on all computer.

You need to edit the batch file.

title Moving Kaspersky Network Agent......
cd \
cd Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\NetworkAgent
cls
klmover -address 198.1.1.86
pause

Change the IP address 198.1.1.86 to your server IP address and then save.
