Full Version: Kaspersky Security 5.5 spam filter

Hi,

I'm having a problem that started yesterday. All the emails from yahoo are considered SPAM and therefore blocked.
If I change from "decline" to "move to junk email folder" everything is ok.

Any advice on how to resolve this?

Are you talking about Kaspersky Security 5.5 for MS Exchange Servers or Kaspersky Security Mail Gateway 5.5?

had them, but they are disabled now - due to this

that's because right yesterday one of the well known services - xbl-sbl.spamhaus.org - started producing lots of false positives.
a week ago, another one - relays.ordb.org - went down completely, marking all messages as spam.

so, in the KAS application, the DNSBL usage is temporary switched off for now (yaeh, there will be an announcement for KAS users soon)...

i decided that this also can be a problem in your case, since you started experiencing problems yesterday as well.

can you send me afew examples of the messages from yahoo that were detected as spam on your system (via PM on this forum since they should be legetimate messages rather than spam)?

P.S. aha - you said "disabled due to this"... does it mean that the reason of the problems is in the public DNSBL services that now does not work properly and produce many false detections?

No, I meant that I tried without any rules on Exchange, but it still did the same..
And yes, one of them was zen from spamhaus, so maybe this might be it

Don't know if it has something to do with this, but when I try to create/delete...and almost any operation on reports it gives me an error: Cannot perform operation / Unspecified error.
Tried a repair - didn't work..

Problem seems to be solved for the moment. Might of been a false positive from one of the dnsbl lists we use (zen from spamhaus and spamcop). Or it could be a problem of installation because i'm still stuck with the errors on reports in KS 5.5.
