Hi,

I would like to know how does the Trusted zone works in KAV for Windows Workstations.
When I add an object (a file path) into the exclusion masks, does KAV built a list of files that are skipped each and every time time it sees them or only once when it sees them for the first time?

Many thanks!

Tybilly
Hello,

Each time KAV is scannig a file, if this file is in this exclusion list then it's excluded.
An excluded file can be scanned several times, not only once. You can checked this in the report of File Antivirus

Thanks, D
Reason I posted this query is that I don't find KAV being more efficient after the file exclusions have been set and am wondering if there is any other way to make it faster performance wise.

Hello,

At first I advise you to :

- Exclude all professional applications from the scan scope through Trusted Zone > Trusted apps menu. I mean all applications you trust which are consuming a lot of ressources (CPU & Memory)
- Exclude directories which contains large files (databases, archives, ...), especially those which are created with applications added to the trusted list in KAV WKS
- Disable scan of network drivers in the configuration of the File Antivirus protection component, if you are using them and if the computer which host files on these network drive is already protected with an AV program.

If it does not help, then check report of File Antivirus to see what the product is actually scanning, then you will be able to set new exclusions.

D.

Hi D,

Thank you for being so helpful.
When I add the applications into the Trusted Apps menu, is it vital that I add the whole path, or just the application itself will do? If just the app, then the settings can be propagated to the whole network environment from the Admin Kit as the same application could be installed in various places depending on the machines.

Best regards.
