Hi,
i have some questions for kasperky virus scanner. Im trying to integrate it in our smtp server (exim), but i want to scan mails during the smtp session, not scanning after accepting the mail and scan with transport/routers.
At the moment im using clamav and i tested some other virus scanners and i didn´t had any problems to use multiple scanner with exim.

But now i wanted to try Kaspersky but i looking for the configuration where i can set the socket (/var/run/aveserver).
I have a trial license Key for kav4fs and kav4ws, but i cant set anywere a socket.


Do i am looking at the wrong place?

You are using wrong application - the aveserver component is a part of the kav4ms 5.5 (KAV for MailServers) application.

Thanks for your fast answer. But this raises some other questions.

Now i using kav4ms via the socket in /var/run/aveserver and not with exim transports like described in manual cause we want reject Mails at SMTP time.

But if i use kav4ms directly tough the socket it does not count the users, is this normal?
Could the reason be the trial key?

What kind of a license is here right ?

We are testing here a lot of scanners and after evaluating some, we wanna buy licenses for and File-Servers and Workstations but now im a little bit confused.

Can someone answer my questions?
