Thomas S.
We've installed Vista Ultimate x64 on one of our PC's.
If KAV for WS wants to update the database from the Admin-Server we get an error message "Could not retrieve updates - physical error".

KAV AdminServer is running on Windows 2003 Standard R2.
Version: 6.0.1572

The local client on Vista is Kaspersky for Windows Workstations.
Version: 6.0.3.837
The policies have been set normally by the Admin-Server on the local client.

We can connect on all other systems (Windows XP x32/x64, Windows Vista x32) without problems to the Admin-Server.
Windows Firewall and Windows Defender are off.
We've set the parameters of the Updates at the Admin-Server to retrieve all available updates.

Is there a known problem with Vista x64?
Any ideas what could be wrong?

Hello,
is this Vista machine visible from KAK Console? I mean, is its icon bright or dim?
Is KAV able to download updates from Internet Kaspersky Lab servers?
have you other machines based on Vista 64bit? If yes, everything is working fine on them?

The PC is visible in the Adminkit (else it wouldn't get the policy, which it does).
We have entered 2 updated sources.
First the Admin Server and then the Internet.
It tries first to get the updates from the update server - this fails.
Then it tries to get the updates from the Internet - which works without problems.

This is the only Vista x64 PC in our company.
We do have some Windows XP Professional x64 PC's - there the update is working without problems.

Hi Thomas,

We resolved this issue by unhiding the Administrator account on the Vista machine by issueing the following command:
CODE
net user administrator /active:yes

Hope this helps.
