We use different KAV versions as well as different Thunderbird und SeaMonkey versions in Windows XP/Vista.
The Anti-SPAM solution of KAV6 simply stalls any attempt to IMAP/TLS (port 143). Turning off TLS works.
Is there something I overlooked?

Same problem for me.
I use KAV 6.0.3.837 in my business pc thunderbird with IMAP/TLS and it stalls waiting for "calculating server capacity"...
Someone can help me?

Uncheck the option "Do not check encrypted connections" in the configuration of KAV WKS (Service > Network settings) if this option is enabled.
In case it does not helped, try to enable "compatibility mode" (Settings > Service).
