Hello all,

I have now kaspersky 6.0.2.621 on each client on the network and about to deploy the Enterprise Space Security that we've purchesed.

In my environment i have SBS 2003, Server 2003 and laptops.

Beacuse the download of the Enterprise edition includes several downloads i have some questions about the migration & configuration needed:

* What is the differences between Kaspersky Anti-virus for Windows Server AND Kaspersky Anti-virus for Windows Server Enterprise Edition, and which should i install ?

* What is differeces between Kaspersky Anti-virus for Microsoft Exchange AND Kaspersky Anti-virus for Exchange 2003, and which should i install ?

* Is there any sequence that i should install the programs ? (admin kit first ? windows server first ? etc.)

* Will i have to unistall the current clients on the laptops and install the new version from the server ?

* Is there any procedure or guide regards the installation of the Enterprise Space Security suite ? (Not a guide for every module seperatly).

I'll appriciate any help and suggestions about my issue that i belive can help any newbees with your fine product.

Thank You for Advance.

You can find the difference for the server here.

You mean the difference between KAV and Security for Exchange. In KAV is only the Virus scanner. In Security is the AV-Scanner and AntiSpam.

The best way is to install the AdminKit first and then deploy the application with the AdminKit. You can install the Version for Exchange only local not remote.

It is better to deinstall the current version before you install the newest version.

No there is no guide for best praxis available.

TNx and one more thing.

I presume i'll install the servers enterprise edition on my SBS server,

* Should i install this on the second 2003 server acting as DC or the regular client ?

* I've got 3 serial nombers (license files) to the product when i've purchesed this version. Is there a way to know for what is every license file i have ?

TNX again

you can install the adminkit on the first or second server. It´s your choise.

You can find the list of key´s in the mail.

------------ ---------- ---------- --------------------------------------------------
xxxxxxxx.key xx SVR KAV for FileServer (V5.0)
xxxxxxxx.key xxx Em Suite for Mail Servers

TNX Again

I didn't ment about the admin kit (i will install it on my server that will be the AV server - Probably the second DC).

I have 4 SVR for fileserver (V5.0), 60 Em suite for mail gates, 40 Node for workstation (V5.0/6.0) + filesservers (v6.0)

is that means that i can install 4 servers (KAV for windows server OR windows server enterprise edition) + on Exchange for 60 Mailboxes + 40 Workstations ?

Is my licenses lets me install only version 5.0 on my servers ?

I hope i didn't confused you with my questions.

My licenses are:
* 4 SVR - KAV for FileServer (V5.0)
* 60 Em - Suite for Mail Gates)
* 40 Node - KAV for workstation (V5.0/6.0) + FileServer (V6.0)

To make things easy, can you accourding to my licenses that i mentioned above to tell me what to install and what version excactly ? (servers, adminkit, laptops etc.)

Thank you for your help and support cause i see that the licenses & modules are confusing.

* 60 Em - Suite for Mail Gates- you can install Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Microsoft Exchange click HERE and download the latest installer. install it on your microsoft exchange server

you can install admin kit on workstation or server just make sure that it meets the system requirements and admin kit does not need a license..

The reason why Kaspersky delivers a Key for Serverversion 5 is that the normal Key for workstation and server doesn´t work on serverversion 5.

Thank You - it was clear - But i have 2 final questions, if i can

* Why to install on the servers KAV for server 6.0.3.837 AND NOT KAV for server enterprise 6.0.0.454 (is it license issue ?) ?
* Can i install on my Exchange Server the KAV for Exchange 2003 5.5.1354.0 ? i understood it's containing the anti-spam in adition.
* The dowsnload for Windows server will deploy that version to my workstations ? if yes so why i have to download the workstation version also ? (for installing it on the workstations without central deployment ?)

Clear answers as usual will give me the all picture and details i nedd for the installation.

Thank You Very Very Much again.

Helmut
The license is for Server 6.0.3.387 or Server EE 6.0.0.454.

You can find the difference here.

The Enterprise Space Security contains only KAV for Exchange and not the Security for Exchange (with AntiSpam)

You must download each product.

Before you can create a remote package you must extract the xx.exe. Then you can find the workstation.kpd. This file is needed for the remote package.
