Full Version: Failed to install Kaspersky Anti Virus for windows servers

I try to install Kaspersky Anti Virus for windows servers on my secondary SBS 2003 but i got this error msg:



I tried to Manually uninstall the Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 8... but its doesnt helps. ( http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-s...1213583048?Open )

What i can do?

Hello,
try this:

1) create a GSI log
2) upload this sysinfo.txt file here
3) verify which are the Symantec values (for sure, they are registry entries) still present on your machine and detected by KAV installer: you may find them within "Suspicious" tab: delete them and try to install KAV once again

If you're still not able to install it, pls post the GSI Parser URL you got

Thanks for your replay, i dont found nothing on 'Suspicious' Tab .

ooopss,
anyway, something yellow is still inside...unfortunately i do not have the CE8 registry UID but you can try to look for Symantec's entry within HKCR\CLSID\ registry area. By clicking on each "InprocServer32" value you can see the software's installation path and detect your target: when you find the right one, delete the whole Symantec entry.
Last option is to force the installation regardless to what KAV installer is detecting....but it'very foolhardy... rolleyes.gif
